Media relations and ComeOut campaign are Niamh's main area of responsibility at ILGA-Europe. She liaises with journalists on behalf of the organisation, both reacting to breaking news stories and proactively publicising ILGA-Europe's Come Out campaign for the upcoming European Parliament elections.
Niamh holds over five years’ experience working in communications. She moved to ILGA-Europe in January 2019, having worked in the EU institutions in Brussels as a communications officer for two years. In the European Parliament, she assisted in the monitoring of media and coordination of press for communications on Brexit. She later worked on online communications for policies pertaining to education, culture, youth and sport in the European Commission. Prior to that, Niamh worked in Ireland as a journalist, researcher and assistant producer for national radio, TV and online outlets RTÉ and TV3.
She completed a BA in English Literature, Creative Writing and History at National University of Ireland Maynooth and holds an MA in Journalism from the National University of Ireland Galway.
