Capacity Building Seminar on LGBTQ activism and Intersex
IGLYO and ILGA-Europe are happy to invite you to participate in a capacity building seminar on LGBTQ activism and intersex.
The seminar will increase your knowledge and skills to address human rights violations faced by intersex people, and how to best reach out and work with them. This call is particularly aimed at activists from member organisations with lesser experience in this area who would like to start exploring it. At the same time, IGLYO and ILGA-Europe would like to also welcome one or two activists coming from organisations with more experience in working on the human rights of intersex people, as we believe in the value of peer learning.
Please find more information below about the seminar.
The seminar will provide participants with diverse knowledge, skills and attitudes to build alliances with intersex people and organisations, and develop initiatives that support them more effectively. The seminar is co-funded by the Progress Programme of the European Union, the Council of Europe European Youth Foundation, and the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
The objectives of the seminar are to:
- Increase the knowledge and sensitivity of participants to specific aspects of intersex people life experiences and human rights violations they are facing
- Increase the capacity of participants (and organisations they represent) to reach out to intersex activists and build alliances with them, and to better respond to the various needs of intersex people and support them
- Ensure that the needs and rights of intersex people are integrated into LGBTQI services, campaigning and advocacy
These topics will be tailored to best fit the needs of successful applicants. Please take time to provide all relevant information in the Application Form. Your input will help us design a seminar that meets your needs.
