Michael works in the fields of asylum and hate crimes, among others. He conducts policy and advocacy work in these fields, monitors the EU, the Council of Europe and other institutions’ agendas, and focuses on the implementation of relevant European and national policies and legislations.
Michael holds a law degree from the University of Leuven, and a European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation. He is Belgian, lives in Brussels, and started working with ILGA-Europe in November 2014. Before, he has worked in the Belgian NGO sector, as a policy officer, and in the public sector, as a political advisor on the regional, national, and supra-national level, always with a strong focus on migration, equality and human rights.
