Team building and strategic planning workshop for Accept - LGBT Cyprus, 12-13 January
Between 12-13 January, ILGA-Europe facilitated a training on team building and strategic planning for Accept - LGBT Cyprus.
Accept - LGBT Cyprus writes about the training:
“Accept – LGBT Cyprus is the only officially registered LGBT organisation in Cyprus, active since just 2010. Soon following the elections for the formation of the first Management Board in May 2012, it became evident that regardless of the organisation’s coherent goals on how to improve LGBT people’s lives on the island, the organisation itself needed to lay the foundations internally to help volunteers become more efficient. To help with this process Accept – LGBT Cyprus requested the assistance of ILGA Europe and it was with great delight that we saw ILGA-Europe immediately respond.
We were all very pleased with the outcome of the weekend which helped us not only draw focus on the organisations’ current actions, immediate future plans and possibilities but also most importantly allowed us to acknowledge limitations of the initial organisational setup. Through the 2-day workshop we were able to better understand the organisation’s current potential and prioritise the immediate actions that will be undertaken in the near future. We also collectively feel that this workshop helped the organisation’s members come closer and are more empowered for action. We are all appreciative to Faika El-Nagashi for her wise advises throughout the weekend.”
