Sophie In’t Veld nominated for an ‘MEP of the Year’ Award

Sophie In’t Veld, Member of the European Parliament, and Vice-President of the European Parliament’s Intergroup on Gay and Lesbian Rights, has been nominated for an ‘MEP of the Year’ Award.

Every year, European Voice casts a spotlight on 50 individuals who have most influenced the European legislative and political agenda during the preceding year.

Sophie In’t Veld is one of the most active supporters of LGBT rights at the European Parliament and works closely with ILGA-Europe.

Not only Sophie passionately defends rights of LGBT people during parliamentary debates, during this year she also took part in Pride events in Warsaw, Moscow and Riga.
