ILGA-Europe is coming to Warsaw to support first ever Europride in Eastern Europe
ILGA-Europe board and staff members are participating to support the Europride 2010 that is going on this week – the first ever such event to take place in Easter Europe.
Europride 2010 culminates in a Pride parade on Saturday July 17. One of ILGA-Europe’s main contributions is our LGBT Family Exhibition which is being displayed at The National Library. Come and see it and join us at the pride parade.
Warsaw is the host of the Europride 2010. ILGA-Europe is strongly represented to show full support, as the fundamental right to freedom of assembly in Poland has been problematic only a few years ago.
LGBT Family Exhibition at the National Library
Since July 8 and to July 18, the ILGA-Europe LGBT Family Exhibition Different Families, Same Love has been exhibited at The National Library in connection with the LGBT film festival Celluloid Ars Homo Erotica. The exhibition in Warsaw has been organised in cooperation with Campaign Against Homophobia (KPH) and the Filmoteka Narodowa (the National Film Archive), and The European Commission, the Austrian Green Foundation and MEP Ulrike Lunacek have generously supported the exhibition financially. The European Parliament’s Intergroup on LGBT Rights has been a strong partner in the process of the making of the exhibition.
On Friday, 16 July at 17:15 representatives of ILGA-Europe, KPH, the National Film Archive and Ulrike Lunacek (MEP) will deliver their greetings at the venue to celebrate the presence of this exhibition at Warsaw Europride 2010 and to examine where Europe is in terms of legal recognition of LGBT families.

Join us in the pride parade!
On Saturday 17 July, ILGA-Europe board and staff members will participate in the Pride parade. We have banners, flags and signs – so come and join us if you are in Warsaw – more the merrier.
We will be marching just after the first float from the Equality Foundation (the organisers of the Europride 2010), and we are meeting at 12.30 at the parade start (look here for at map).
Look out for the ILGA-Europe purple banner, flags and signs!
