<p>This Toolkit is a response to hostile and violent opposition to the first lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Pride events in some Eastern and Central European countries during last few years. </p>

<p>In this issue we focus on the challenges for young and older LGBT Europeans.</p>

<p>Once again the Polish authorities demonstrate their homophobia by rejecting application by gay organisations and accusing LGBT activists of 'propaganda of homosexual behavior among young people'.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Sophie In’t Veld, Member of the European Parliament, and Vice-President of the European Parliament’s Intergroup on Gay and Lesbian Rights, has been nominated for an ‘MEP of the Year’ Award. </p>
