ILGA-Europe project: Working with the police and challenging hate crimes in Europe 2008-2011
This project aims at the reinforcement of ILGA-Europe’s advocacy strategy in international and European institutions (the EU, the CoE and the OSCE). It also includes the development of tools specifically designed to facilitate engagement between LGBT organisations and police forces, to better tackle hate violence. ILGA-Europe’s project is funded by the Dutch government and also supported by the European Union.

SOS homophobie in partnership with ILGA-Europe organised a seminar on the topic of support to victims of violence and monitoring and reporting of violence targeting LGBT people.
Round Table on engagement between the police and LGBT communities, 12-13 December 2009
The purpose of the round table was to organise exchanges on the situation faced by LGBT rights defenders and sharing best practices.

This publication is the result of a research conducted in 2009-2010, in the frame of a project supported by the Dutch government. ILGA-Europe believes that this publication will provide law enforcement authorities and LGBT organisations across Europe with a set of useful suggestions and methodological tools to develop and strengthen joint actions to fight hate crime more efficiently.
