Summary

This project aims at documenting systematically a wide range of hate crimes (such as violent behavior, severe physical injuries, rape, murder etc) against sexual minorities in Croatia. It will be implemented jointly by Lesbian Group Kontra and Iskorak-Center for Rights of Sexual Minorities. The project could be seen as a part of broader activities performed by the legal team of both organizations in assisting victims of hate crimes and monitoring media.

The importance of carrying out this project comes from the lack of information on hate crimes against sexual minorities, due to the climate of fear and mistrust towards the police and authorities.

The information gathered will be used for advocacy purposes and for raising awareness on hate crimes within the police.
