I fully support LGBTQI rights. Our rights are human rights. Europe should be leading the world on this agenda. It is appalling that there are still parts of the world where the state executes people for being LGBT and EU countries should not have trade treaties with these countries especially for military aid. Countries in the EU should all extend asylum rights on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity.

As an openly gay man and also someone living with HIV, I am actively engaged in fighting for the rights of the LGBTIQ community in London and also for HIV+ people across Europe. I was involved in the early gay rights movement in the Irish Republic in the late 70s and an activist for HIV+ people in London during the 90s.
