Dear friends from ILGA-Europe,<br />
I am with you, with the EP intergroup and with organizations and citizens fighting for equality for LGBT people. It is high time for the EU and its Member States - notably Italy - to stop treating LGBT persons as second-class citizens whose rights can trampled or put aside. We have a lot of work to do: ensure that the anti-discrimination directive is adopted, as well as laws to fight homophobia and transphobia; that LGBT couples can marry, enter a civil union or a registered partnerships just like everybody else and that they can enjoy their rights everywhere in Europe; that fundamental rights of LGBT people are promoted in EU foreign relations and that persecutions and discriminations of LGBT people do not take place in the world. We have to work together in the Member States, in the EU and in the world to achieve these goals. You can count on me to support this fight !<br />
