We are all LGBT!!! - In Iran (where I was born) the law still condemns homosexuality as ilegal with the punishment beeing death-penalty!!! Therefore there are a lot of LGBT refugees in Europe - who unfortunately mostly get rejected as asylumseekers!!!

I am against any discrimination based on sexual preference. I am gay myself and I want EU to be a good place to live for all people, including gays and lesbians. When the European Union offers partnerships to countries outside the EU it is imperative that these countries put an end to all discrimination of gays.

I fully support the equal rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender/Transsexual people. The EU is not, however, a community of values. There are countries and MEPs who do not respect human rights. This clearly effects - and will continue to effect - the policies of the EU. Therefore the EU should not gain influence over these issues. The Council of Europa and the Court of Human Rights are the right fora. Futhermore, it is of great importance that progressive countries (all over the world!) can work together - also on the grass root...
