Rainbow House is an LGBT initiative group based in Tyumen, one of the biggest cities of Western Siberia. It was founded in October 2005 and has been refused registration on four occasions.

With the help of legal aid NGO “Agora” the founders of the “Rainbow House” have sued the authorities, but lost at all national instances and have applied to the European Court of Human Rights. As a consequence, the founder of the Rainbow House has been under investigation by the authorities for ‘extremism’ for taking part in the Week against Homophobia.
