The Slovak Queer Film Festival (FFi) has prepared a section of Israeli films for you this year, telling the stories of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transpeople. “When we started to create this section, dedicated to Israeli queer cinema, we had had more than 30 films for the last 15 years to choose from. Narrowing the selection to only five of them was very hard. However, we believe the selection we made would be attractive for an audience,” commented Zita Hosszuová, Festival Director.

And as she added, the films would not avoid the topic of a collision of homosexuality and orthodox Jewishness (“Eyes Wide Open”, “The Secrets”). The Festival would also screen two films of one of the most famous gay director in Israel, Eytan Fox: “Yossi and Jagger” about love between two Israeli soldiers, and a playful musical “Mary Lou”. Israeli gay community is described in a documentary “Gay Days”.
