Slovak Queer Film Festival starts in September

The Fifth Edition of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) film festival is to
traditionally take place in Bratislava at the end of September and beginning of October. It
is again to offer more than 30 films, Slovak and international, about LGBT community life.

The audience may warmly welcome Israeli Queer Cinema selection (such as Eyes Wide
Shut, d. Haim Tabakman, 2009), Slovak film on Aleš Votava Walls are High and Thick
(Juraj Johanides, 2010), German transgender film Romeos (Sabine Bernardi, 2011), and
Sarah Waters΄ novels adaptations.

The accompanying events of the Festival are NoMantinels theatre play Sissies, on social stereotypes influencing our lives. During the Slovak Queer Film Festival, the audience may also take part in various discussions, e.g. on Christianity and homosexuality, transgender issues, homophobia, or Queer art in Slovakia.
