Demonstration in Moldova, 29 April 2010
The flashmob took place outside the Mayor's office in Chisinau. Maxim Anmeghichean, Programmes Director ILGA-Europe, took part in the peaceful demonstration.
The Mayor had submitted a request to the Chisinau Court to ban GenderDoc-M’s peaceful demonstration planned for 2 May supporting adoption of the anti discrimination law. The Court took a decision on 28 April to ban the event from the main square offering an alternative location far from the city centre (look for more details here).
All of the photos are taken at the Mayor’s office (Municipality), except the one with statue of the two fists – this was at the Monument for the Victims of Persecution monument; the demonstrators went from there to the Municipality office.
The angry person on the pictures was a random person, but was moved on by the police.
