Pentti Oinonen, an MP for the populist Finns party, was quoted as saying by tabloid Iltalehti on Wednesday that the sight of gays dancing at an annual Independence Day reception hosted by the president made him uncomfortable.
"The dancing by gays [in the Presidential Palace] is a personal affront to me," Oinonen told the paper.
"One war veteran has already asked me how it was possible to have gays dancing in the Presidential Palace. I too think it a bit odd."
Oinonen and Teuvo Hakkarainen, a fellow Finns party MP, have said they will not attend this year's reception in December.
Both men have repeatedly voiced their anti-gay views.
