PINK Embassy besides its work in advocacy and lobbing for guaranteeing the respect of LGBT community rights (through informative and educational campaigns, monitory of cases of human rights violation for LGBT members and reaction against anyone who threatens or jeopardizes these rights, influence the government and policymaking to build effective mechanisms in favor of LGBT community) organizes weekly community events.

Almost all the events are organized in the premises of PINK Embassies offices, because this was a secure location for the community. However, this year the embassy is trying to organize events to go outside the office. Each event is held by one member of the staff/ambassador assisted by a second member of the staff. In this way the events aid the PINK staff to be up to dated with the community needs and requests, since during these meeting there is plenty of possibility to invite community members to give feedback.

Coffee at PINK is the event held by one of the Ambassadors of PINK (Bela). It is a friendly gathering at the PINK’s office, where people fromt he LGBT community can share their concerns, joyfull moments and so on with people who will not judge or discriminate them based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.

The purpose of this event is to build a stonger community cohesion through disscusing problems and issues that affect the community with members of the community or with pro-lgbt friends.

Homos Politicus

Homos Politicus is an event held by the 1st Ambassador (Altin). The event is organised like a debate club, where there is a topic proposed by the communiy. The guests of the event are divided in two groups, where each one of them present arguments for and against the chosen topic. Altin moderates, assisted by a staff member moderates the debate.

The puprose of Homos Politicus is to empowr the community to voice and debate their rights and demands in the best way possible. It becomes an informative and educational process, since the arguments brought to difend their stand of the topic, become challenged by everybodies knowledge.

PINK Youth Group

PINK Youth Group is managed by the youngest members of the office. This group does community games, movie making, excursions, movie screening and of course party planning. The aim of the group is to build solidarity between the youth LGBT members (17-22) and to invite people who are not certain of their sexual orientations (Q) to explore their opportunities in a fun environment and with friends.

Career Orientation

This is the newest event of PINK. It was proposed seeing the uncertain market that Albanian offers for youth in general. The aim of the career orientation is to build a dialogue with young LGBT, but not only, about their choice of future career and how sexual orientation influences this choice.

This event is build in sessions who correspond to topics that the boys and girls proposed, making a total of 19 sessions. In the end of the 10 sessions, we aim to collect enough feedback to construct a guide for LGBT on how to orient in their job seeking in Albania.
