Scotland allows same-sex adoption

A law allowing same-sex couples to adopt has been passed in Scotland, despite vehement religious opposition.

Equality win for trans woman

The European Court of Justice today ruled in favour of a trans woman who was denied a pension at the age of 60 as the law defines her as being a man, and so not eligible to a pension until 65.

Civil Partnership Act comes into force in the UK

From today lesbian and gay couples can oficially register their partnerships.
