Pink Life QueerFest
THE FIRST QUEER FILM FESTIVAL OF TURKEY: PEMBE HAYAT QUEERFEST
The first queer film festival of Turkey, Pembe Hayat QueerFest, will be organized between 17 – 24 November 2011 in Ankara.
The Festival, which will be organized by Pembe Hayat, will provide the opportunity for the queer theory and arts to be discussed while attracting attention to discrimination and violence against LGBT persons.
Festival Venue & Tickets
The film screenings and the panels of the Pembe Hayat QueerFest will be realized at Kızılay Buyulu Fener Cinema. The Festival tickets will be public on 7 November 2011 at Kızılay Buyulu Fener Cinema. The price o the tickets are; 2,5 TRY for the 12.00 session, 5 TRY for the 14.30 and 17.00 sessions, 10 TRY for the 19.30 and 21.15 sessions.
Opening Film: Zenne the Dancer
Opening ceremony of Pembe Hayat QueerFest will be organized at Kızılay Buyulu Fener Cinema at 19.00. The opening film of the Festival will be Zenne the Dancer, which has been rewarded at Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. The Ankara premier of the film, which was devoted to Ahmet Yıldız who was killed by his father because of his homosexuality in 2008, will be realized at Pembe Hayat QueerFest.
