Two gay couples who have been driven to move home after a string of attacks on their property are to go to court to force the public prosecution department to take action against the perpetrators, the Volkskrant reports on Monday.

One couple moved from Utrecht last year and the other couple, who live in a village near Sittard, have put their home up for sale.

The couple who have already moved say they made at least eight complaints to police. In the end the couple sold their home for below the market value and say the damage bill comes to over €40,000.

The case of the Sittard couple will be heard on Tuesday, the paper says.
