Documentaries on Ondrej Nepela’s life are to be screened on Tuesday, 26th of April in Bratislava by the Slovak Queer Film Festival. Organisers would like to commemorate the successful figure-skater, who would celebrate his 60th birthday this January. Nepela’s name is also carried by this year’s World Hockey Championships Winter Stadium.

“Evening with Ondrej Nepela” in FTF VŠMU FK 35 mm brings the audience Juraj Jakubisko’s documentary “Ondrej Nepela” and Czech Television’s documentary “What Ondrej Nepela danced for”, which also openly speaks of his sexual orientation and death on AIDS.

The screening begins at 7pm and the entrance is free. Screening partners are the Slovak Film Institute and the Czech Television. For more information, please see www.ffi.sk.
