In early June “Hotline of Russian LGBT-Network”– information and advice center designed as a support for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender people, their families and friends started its work. It also aims at providing everyone with answers on questions concerning homosexuality.

The number 8-800-555-08-68 is available 24 hours a day (7/24), free inland call (Russia). The service is provided by volunteers trained as “Specialists of crisis centers and telephone hotlines”.

People calling the hotline may receive information or make a request regarding the following issues: legal assistance (advice, first aid at crisis, complicated situation, a request for legal assistance, search of a specialist for protection in court), counseling ( support at difficult, emergency situations, connection to a specialist for further work and counseling), organizational issues (all issues concerning organization of regional representations of the Network, the state registration of regional LGBT-organization, training of volunteers, organization of actions, joining the regional offices, workshops, movie screenings and much more).
