Shameful and retrograde decision from the City Council of Balti in Moldova

Statement from ILGA-Europe:

ILGA-Europe finds today’s adoption of the decision “On proclamation of the city of Balti zone of support for Moldovan Orthodox Church and inadmissibility of aggressive propaganda of non-traditional sexual orientations” by the City Council of Balti shameful and retrograde.

Ensuring freedom of assembly for LGBT people in Moldova and Ukraine

This May lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) organisations in Moldova and Ukraine are planning to hold public events. Today the court in the Moldovan capital of Chişinău ruled that the planned peaceful demonstration supporting adoption of anti-discrimination law can only take place in a park far from the city centre.

The National Congress of the Democratic Youth of the Moldovan Democratic Party took place in Chisinau. At this event, for the fist time in our country's history, representatives of Information Centre "GenderDoc-M" - the organization, which promotes lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights in Moldova - actively participated.
