Sophie In’t Veld : “It's Putting Europe to the test”
The Dutch MEP talked during the "Gay Pride event" at the under siege Raval Latvia Hotel in Riga
“Homophobia grows in a climate of fears and hatred. And we are living that climate. We see that our European government are throwing human rights out of the window” declared minutes ago Sophie In’t Veld, Dutch member of the European Parliament at the Under siege, Reval Latvia Hotel in Riga.
“The sole majority of European are democrats” pointed out In’t Veld
“We need to speak louder or we will leave the floor to the bigots, to the extremes, to the ones who want violence. Tell your friends and family to speak out. That is just as important. I will go back the European Parliament and will make sure that the Parliament will speak out. We will try to put pressure. Its putting Europe to the test. It’s the moment for Europe to show its colours” concluded the European MP.
