Artis Pabriks, Latvian Foreign Minister, appeals to the people of Latvia to be tolerant

On 17 May, the International Day against Homophobia, Latvian Foreign Minister, Artis Pabriks, repeatedly appealed to the people of Latvia to be tolerant towards each other.
“Each of us differs from other, but such different cannot be a reason for aggression, intolerance and accusations. Tolerance towards each other is a fundamental value of the ancient European culture and we cannot forget it” said the Minister.
He appealed to the people to treat each other with understanding and not allow racism, homophobia, and anti-Semitism. Artis Pabriks stressed that tolerance should be touch to the children from very early age at schools and in families.
While racism and intolerance tendencies are on increasing worldwide, some of the human rights issues do not loose their importance and actuality at international institutions. Latvian Foreign Minister hopes that in the future Latvia will be used as a positive example for other countries.
