“THE PROMOTION OF THE EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE SEXUAL ORIENTATIONS: SPACES OF ACTIONS FOR LOCAL INSTITUTIONS”
This meeting aims to increase the reflection about the themes against the discrimination and to offer a complete view of the most recent developments in the field of Europe wide conception of opportunity, offering the theory and political fundaments that are the basis for the promotion of an integrated approach towards the same discrimination in European Union.
During the meeting there will be given two examples of real experiences in the European, national and local context. It will be also shown the research of the Equal Opportunities Commission of 2005, concerning “the promotion of the equal opportunities for the specific sexual orientation: spaces and actions for the local institutions”. The research proposes the recognition of the most advanced practices in this field existing in local European administrations, case studies (one of these is specific of Autonym Trento Province), towards focus groups involving local administrators, local public employees, forces of public security, managers of the trade unions, immigration services, social institutions, scouts, educational and sanitary sector.
