Attacks in Rome on two gay men and in a gay club

A man is suspected of murder attempt on two gay men, and later a gay club was attacked by a firebomb.

Two incidents of attacks have been reported from the capital of Italy during this week.

Firstly, a man allegedly attacked and tried to kill two gay men who was visiting Rome's gay and lesbian festival last weekend. Police has commented that one of the victims was hit by a bottle in the head while the other was stabbed. He was serverly wounded, and was brought to the hospital, where doctors saved his life after surgery. Soon after the attack, the attacker was arrested by the police and brought into custody. However the man was released soon after, which caused a lot of reactions. Also the Major of Rome, Gianni Alemanno called the release "debateable".

Secondly, a historic Rome gay disco was the victim of an arson attack Tuesday night. Firemen had to put out the flames before they could reach the inside of the Qube club. Flammable liquid was found near the door that was torched.
