United Nations Periodic Review of Ireland

30/03/2011
Submitted by GLEN

The UN Human Rights Council examines the human rights record of all countries through a new Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process. Ireland will be examined in October this year, where Ireland reports on its record in civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights.
The Council will examine that record and recommend steps to strengthen human rights on the ground in Ireland.
Civil society organisations can contribute to the process, and GLEN have made a submission on issues for lesbian, gay and bisexual people.
