The 2nd Parliamentary stage of the Civil Partnership Bill completed in the Dail (parliament) in January 2010, with all-party support. The Bill will grant same-sex couples extensive marriage-like rights and responsibilities. A critical omission is the lack of recognition and protection of children in same-sex famillies.
