Same-sex couples call for marriage quality

On 22 August 2010 more than 3000 people took part in a demonstration in Dublin. They demonstrated to highlight shortcomings in the new civil partnership legislation compared to full marriage equality. The Irish campaign group LGBT Noise organised the demonstration.

Judge Elizabeth Dunne said that same sex marriage cannot be recognised within the Irish Constitution. Drs Katherine Zappone and Ann Louise Gilligan say that they are the only kind of human beings in Ireland whose right to marry the person they choose to love is not recognised.
