Commemorating the victims of the homophobic attack in Tel-Aviv

Thursday, 6th August 2009

The Rainbow Mission Foundation (RMF) expresses sincere sympathy for the families and friends of those who were killed in a homophobic assassination Saturday, August 1st in Tel-Aviv, and wishes to express solidarity with the survivors on behalf of the Hungarian lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

The unknown assassin, dressed in black, walked into the building of the Israeli gay alliance and opened fire on the gay people there. During the attack two people were killed - among the fourteen people injured others are still in danger.

The crime committed in the Tel-Aviv center took leaves of young, peaceful lesbian and gay people solely because their sexual orientation was different from that of the majority.

In solidarity with the international efforts protesting this event, the Rainbow Mission Foundation invites all sympathetic people to attend a solemn commemoration at the Israeli embassy of Budapest.
