Discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is prohibited in the areas of employment, and provision of goods and services.
Legal gender recognition of trans people
Greece has administrative procedures to obtain legal gender recognition - however only after compulsory sterilisation.
Partnership recognition
Greece does not provide any legal recognition of same-sex partnerships.
Parenting rights
Neither joint nor second parent adoption is available to same-sex couples in Greece.
Criminal law on hate speech/crime
Sexual orientation is included in the law on hate and violence, and is recognised as aggravating factor.
Freedom of assembly/Pride events
Pride events have taken place with authorisation.
Criminal law on age of consent
The age of consent is not equal in Greece. For same-sex male activities it is 17 and for different-sex partners it is 15.
