<p>An ANSO conference about diversity in higher education hosted by BLUS in July 18-25, 2010.</p><p>This summer 60 young people from eight different countries will gather in Copenhagen to discuss diversity in higher education.</p><p>BLUS – an organisation for gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and queer students will host the weeklong conference named School of Diversity.</p><p>Professional companies have for a long time been aware of the social and economic benefits of activily working for diversity. There is much research done in the field of diversity but very little of this has been directed at institutions of higher education. BLUS believes that the discussion is relevant in higher education.</p><p>During the conference participants will discuss what diversity is in higher education and aim to understand what criterias are necessary to be able to call a university diverse. The outcome of the conference will be a set of tools developed by the participants to work actively for inclusion of diversity in higher education.</p><p>Speakers include Elizabeth Wilson-Anstey, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, who has more than three decades of experience with student affairs. John Paul Sanchez works to address the sociopolitical needs of LGBTQ individuals living in the United States.
