Solidarity and Networking Conference - 3-6 December 2010

From 3 December until 6 December, the Cyprus Solidarity and Networking Conference will take place in Nicosia, Cyprus.
LGBTI activists from all the communities of Cyprus are meeting with LGBTI activists from Malta, Greece and Turkey to share experiences, discuss movement organising and to discuss co-operation in the region.

This event is coorganised by ILGA-Europe together with Accept LGBT Cyprus, Gay Liberation Movement of Cyprus, Initiative Against Homophobia (HOKI) and Malta Gay Rights Movement.

The conference will have different sessions between the LGBTI activists from the South-East Mediterranean region, with the key focusing on organizational development and regional co-operation. It is the first time that such a solidarity and networking conference is taking place in this region , and it is coinciding with the growth of the LGBTI movement in Cyprus with Accept LGBT Cyprus, Gay Liberation Movement of Cyprus and Initiative against Homophobia (HOKI).

ILGA-Europe is moreover taking part in meetings with various key governmental actors to facilitate a dialogue between the local LGBTI movements and national institutions.

Different Families, Same Love - LGBT Family Exhibition in Cyprus

In connection with the conference, ILGA-Europe has organized together with Accept LGBT Cyprus and Gay Liberation Movement of Cyprus, the LGBT Family Exhibition to be hosted in Cyprus. The Exhibition will be on display from Friday 3 December till 10 December at the Peace Center in Nicosia. Mayor of Nicosia, Ms Eleni Mavrou will open the Exhibition on Friday 3 December 18.30.
