Croatian President Ivo Josipovic has expressed support for this summer’s gay pride parade in Split but will not attend due to other commitments.
During his one-day visit to this Dalmatian town, Josipovic also visited feminist association Domine that will organise the parade in June.
"I ask Split residents, whether they agree or not with what Domine or other similar associations say, to respect their right to be different and that no one even thinks about being violent, because that would show Croatia in a very bad light," the President told those gathered.
