Health Minister against fertility treatment for gay couples

Croatian Minister of Health Darko Milinovic has stood firm by his statement that medically assisted reproduction is not for gay couples.
"These procedures are applied in cases of those couples who - because of disease and dysfunction of the reproductive organs - can not have children. Because gay couples can not have children because of their sexual orientation, which is not a disease, they can not access medical fertility procedures," Cobankovic said on Thursday.
He added that everyone has the right to sexual orientation.
In his speech at a Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) event in Gospic (central Croatia), Milinovic said that the left coalition emphasises that it would allow gay and lesbian marriages, something HDZ is firmly against, daily 24 Sata writes.
