<p class="MsoNormal">EXPOSITION &quot;LATVIAN DESIGNERS AGAINST HIV/AIDS&quot;</p><p class="MsoNormal">AmArt Gallery, November 6th 2006</p><p class="MsoNormal">Brussels</p><p class="MsoNormal">The exposition is fundraising event devoted to the fight against HIV/AIDS. This contribution is extremely important at a time when alarming figures reveal increasing infections rates within the EU as well as in Latvia. </p><p class="MsoNormal">This event is meant to spread information about the disease and to raise awareness about living conditions and life quality of those affected by HIV/AIDS. </p><p class="MsoNormal">In this occasion we are collecting money to donate to DIA+LOGS, a Latvian NGO that created in 2002 the first Centre for Support to HIV infected individuals in Latvia. For the past five years DIA+LOGS spread information on HIV prevention, led education and harm reduction initiatives, launched campaigns and projects for re-socialization of HIV infected.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Prof. Georgs Andrejevs, Member of the European Parliament and Vice Chairman of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety is the Rapporteur on the EU strategy on combating HIV/AIDS. As a Medical Doctor and politician, Prof. Andrejevs dedicates most of his work to combat health treats. </p><p class="MsoNormal">DIA+LOGS has made a visible difference in the fight against HIV Aids and with this charity event we want to contribute to their successful and very much needed effort.</p>
