Survey Research with LGBT Community in Albania (summer 2006)

87 persons answered the questionnaire, of which only three were women. The survey proves that the LGBT community in Albania constitutes a highly marginalised and stigmatised minority group. Albanian society is patriarchal and extremely homophobic. Therefore, LGBT people can only exist in secret. They do not feel accepted by society because of their sexual orientation and even their relations with their family and friends are problematic.
