IGLYO calls for partner organisation - LBT Women's Conference - September 2011

IGLYO are in the process of applying for funding to host a women's conference in the second half of 2011. This conference will explore specific issues for lesbian, biseuxal and transgener women within the field of equalities and youth. It is expected that a variety of themes will be addressed, these may include:

  • Violence Against Women
  • Discrimination and equality in the Workplace
  • Family Issues
  • Representation and Visibility

The partner organisation must:

  • have a strong interest and expertise in LBT and/or women's equality work
  • experience and success hosting confernece (either local, national or international)
  • experience of working in a non-formal way
  • experience of work with youth (under 30 years old)
  • have knowledge of LGBT equality issues.
  • be able to provide €5000 of funding, either in kind or in cash
  • be located within the Council of Europe states
  • have knowledge of IGLYO's work (desirable, not essential)

The partner organisation must provide:

  • Venue for the 4-6 day conference
  • Accommodation for 15-25 participants
  • Food and refreshments for 15 - 25 participants
  • Staff or volunteer resources to be part of the steering team and events team (around 5 hours per week)

IGLYO will provide:

  • Funding to support 15-25 participants to attend the conference
  • Funding to support the prep-team to meet prior to the conference
  • Resources to support the conference, including staff and volunteers

There is a short deadline for this funding, therefore please send a note of interest by the 22nd September to esther@iglyo.com, a decision will be made by the 24th September and successful applicants will be notified in due course.
