ETUC publishes a document for European trade unions calling for sexual orientation and gender identity inclusion
This report is based on the proceedings of a conference organised by the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC). The conference ‘Extending equality: trade union actions to organise and promote equal rights, respect and dignity for workers regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity’ was held in Brussels, 29-30 January 2008.It is intended to collect and examine the work that European trade unions are doing towards organising LGBT workers and that policy-making initiatives take up in order to fully include the ground of sexual orientation and gender identity in their work. This document will assist the ETUC to adopt a stronger position with respect to LGBT equality in employment.
This tool is very useful for trade unions intending to conduct specific work for their LGBT members, and also for LGBT organisations that are working for LGBT equality in employment.
