World Day against the Death Penalty: 7 countries still put people to death for same-sex acts
Today is World Day against the Death Penalty. This is also the first European Day against the Death Penalty as proclaimed by the Council of Europe on 27 September 2007.

Michael Cashman receives MEP award
Last night Michael Cashman, Member of the European Parliament and the President of the EP’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights Intergroup, received an MEP Award 2007 for the most valuable contribution in the field of Justice and Fundamental Rights policy.
