Today is Human Rights Day; in two days EU leaders sign EU Fundamental Rights Charter – the first ever international treaty prohibiting sexual orientation discrimination
Today is International Human Rights Day when the world marks the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. On 13 December, leaders of the EU member states will gather in Brussels to sign the Reformed Treaty which includes the Charter of Fundamental Rights. The Charter is the first international treaty containing explicit prohibition of sexual orientation discrimination.

ILGA-Europe marks the World AIDS Day by launching a web-based guide on international human rights law on sexual and reproductive health
On 30 November 2007, to commemorate the World AIDS Day, ILGA-Europe launches an electronic guide to international human rights references to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) as related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections.

Delegates of ILGA-Europe annual conference experience first-hand discrimination and resistance in Vilnius, but are united and determined to work together for Europe of equality and respect
On 25-28 October 2007, almost 200 delegates from all over Europe gathered in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius for the 11th ILGA-Europe’s Annual Conference. While the public event to display rainbow flag during the conference was banned by the Mayor of Vilnius and there was a demonstration against the conference, the delegates are determined to fight prejudice, discrimination and injustice.

ILGA-Europe members gather for annual conference in Vilnius, but their public event is banned by Mayor
On 25-28 October 2007, almost 200 delegates from all over Europe gather in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius for the 11th ILGA-Europe’s Annual Conference. While the Conference goes ahead, the Rainbow Flag public event planned by the Lithuanian hosts during the conference was banned by the Mayor of Vilnius. A legal challenge of the ban has been already initiated.

World Day against Death Penalty: 7 countries still put people to death for same-sex acts
Today is World Day against Death Penalty. This is also the first European Day against Death Penalty as proclaimed by the Council of Europe on 27 September 2007.
