Today, 1/02/2007, President of Russia stated the connection between gays and demographic problems of Russia. He advocates human rights, but he keeps stand of government official as well.
There have been plenty of such statements. However, this statement is somewhat different. It reflected the policy of the state. Moreover, from such perspective his statement is a sensation because from the spring of the new Russian state in 1985 through 1992, when finally it was molded into its present shape, the government has never pronounced its position in respect of gay community.
Position of local authorities has no significant importance in comparison with the policy of the state and always adjusts to the stand of the government. To avoid contradiction of local government positions, the state must declare its position. That was the reason for different attitude to the gay community in the regions. Until now, discrimination of gays was carried out as if there were no any gays. The government’s stand was laid out today for the first time. The country is in a state when everything depends on a will of one person and such state may be altered at desire of this person. That is why the position of President is the official position of the state.
What was the point of President's speech? What, in plain words, did he say? We would like instead of playing on words, going into scientific explanations, referring to examples of advanced countries and disputing, give brief logical scheme of this statement and simple facts.
The gist of President's statement:
Gays are closely connected to population problems of the country. Population problems mean fertility problems.
That means:
Number of gays increases if there are other gays in the country.
In case of constant number of gays there will be no fertility decline. And gays would not be connected to population problems subject to President’s concern.
In such way existence of gays in the country declines fertility.
What are the ways for increasing of gay population?
People are drawn by gays and “become gays”. Or gays do not drag others into their life-style but exist and others want to become gays. There are no any other options. Number of gays increases, number of those, who might give birth to children declines.
Facts:
- There are no scientifically proved reasons for appearance of gays. There are some hypotheses non of which is not recognized as reliable.
- Modern science has no techniques for changing of sexual orientation of a man, even desiring to change it.
- Statistics are the evidence of correlation invariability of gays from state to state.
Conclusions:
President determined government’s position in respect of gay community, which has no scientific grounds, accusing gays of fertility decline issue.
