Ten years later after the first campaign, the second All Different, All Equal campaign was launched in June 2006 and has even bigger goals than its predecessor. Instead of merely fighting intolerance, it aims to highlight diversity and celebrate Europe’s many cultures, traditions and lifestyles. The Campaign hopes to work with national governments, nongovernmental organizations and youth groups to ensure that the themes of the campaign reach as many people as possible. So, whether you are a citizen, the leader of an NGO, a public authority, the employee of private company, a trade union representative, a student or anybody else, you can contribute to the success of the Campaign.

The Fight Against Homophobia

At the December meeting of National Campaign Committees in Budapest, the Secretariat of the European Youth Campaign introduced a new strategy to increase tolerance throughout Europe: Thematic Weeks. Each designated week will emphasize a specific theme of the Campaign at the European level, which will be simultaneously presented across Europe with activities, meetings and demonstrations.

The first Thematic Week will raise awareness about homophobia, with a particular focus on Eastern Europe. The events will be centered in Warsaw, Poland and will last from March 1-6. However, in order for the Anti-Homophobia Week to be a success, we need your help. If possible, please attend the events in Warsaw. With representatives from around Europe, we can send a strong message that homophobia is unacceptable and must be stopped.

However, if you are unable to attend the events in Poland, you can still make a difference. If you would like to plan or participate in a local event or learn about our other Thematic Action Weeks, please visit the Campaign’s website.
