Chisinau, October 15 ( INFOTAG ). Homosexual marriages are one of the dangers of globalization, the Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova, Vladimir, stated at a theological conference of globalization challenges held here today.

The Metropolitan said that many countries adopt laws that legalize homosexual marriages on an equal footing with normal marriages, and that this goes contrary to Christian convictions.

He believes this adversity may attack any nation, and Moldova is no exception. In his opinion, a national idea and globalization are incompatible, for the latter one ruins any nationality.

Vladimir believes that yet another hazard of globalization are attempts of interference into a person's intimate life.

"A genuine worshipper remains such both at home and at the job. He/she cannot take professional decisions contradicting to his/her religious convictions, and the so-called political loyalty marginalizes religion, restricting it to the private life sphere only", said the Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova.

In his opinion, the introduction of the new control system with an identification code is dangerous, for a man thus becomes a slave to the system that disposes of full information about the person and can conduct a total control over the person.

"We are categorically against this, for a person receives a name at christening, and we perceive the assigning of a number to the person as a change of the person's name. In Moldova, there exists only one document having no identification code - Form #9, which is acquiring a growing popularity among Orthodox Christians. But you may not use this document for major sale or purchase deeds, or for traveling abroad. The Form #9 holders cannot undertake a pilgrimage to holy places. And this is already an infringement on people's religious freedoms", said the Metropolitan.
