Sign the petition against violence during Budapest Pride

On 5th July 2008 Pride was held in Budapest. Regrettably the event was the most violent in the country's history. The participants and police were attacked by right-wing extremists throwing Molotov cocktails and acid leaving ten people hurt.

Budapest police chief bans LGBT Pride March

On 11 June 2008, Dr. Gábor Tóth, the Budapest police chief, banned the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Pride March scheduled for 5 July 2008. The reason given is that the Pride March will hinder traffic.

Hungary approves partnership legislation

Hungary's parliament has approved the Registered Partnership Act. From January 1st 2009 lesbian and gay couples will have almost identical rights as married heterosexual couples in common law.
