Dear friends,

Organization Q for Promotion and Protection of Culture, Identity and Human Rights of Queer Persons is organizing a Promotion of its newest publication Na - strani: Zbornik radova o seksualnosti (Off the Side: Collection of Works about Sexuality) on Saturday, June 30th, 2007, in Karabit, Sarajevo, starting at 6 PM. Promotion will be moderated by Svetlana Ðurkoviæ, Slobodanka Dekiæ (Organization Q) and Belma Beæirbašiæ, a newsjournalist from the weekly BH DANI from Sarajevo.
Na - strani is a publication which through 25 texts/works presents what is known to be different kind of sexuality and how people dicover it. Works that we collected through a public call are created by persons who feel they are „off the side" or that they are placed there by the society. Na-strani is a book for all those who feel different and who want to go beyond what is served under the terms sexuality - reproduction, marriage, man, woman, hetero, in one word, everything which is ''natural'' and 'according to God's laws''. This is a first publication of this kind published in bh. languages.
Na-strani is an outcome of our project. In and Out was a project whose primary goal was to offer encouragement to LGBTIQ persons in Bosni i Hercegovini, as well as to increase visibility of queer identities, culture, and human rights of queer persons. This project, as well as the book, are financed by the Swedish Helsinki Committee for Human Rights.
