As senior policy and programmes officer, Evelyne works on non-discrimination and equal
opportunities (implementation of the Employment Equality Directive, the
European Year on Equal Opportunities) and on the EU social policy agenda
(social inclusion process, health, Lisbon strategy). Her tasks include
initiating proposals for appropriate responses by ILGA-Europe, producing
reports and policy on the issues listed above. Another of Evelyne's areas of
responsibilities is the co-ordination of ILGA-Europe's EU Network - a key
tool to exchange information with and support members at national level -
and national implementation of EU policies and legislations. Evelyne is
Canadian and started working with ILGA-Europe on 19 September 2005.

Background

Originally from Canada, Evelyne has been working in the field of human rights for over six years. She has worked for the UN High Commission for Human Rights, the Council of Europe and human rights NGOs in Canada. Evelyne completed studies in history, political science and European affairs in Canada and in France. She holds a Master's degree in political science (thesis on citizenship, social exclusion and racial discrimination in
housing, education and employment in Europe).
